Dogma vs. reason

Dogma has no place in training or food.

“The World’s Most Ultimate Training Plan: perfect for every human in every situation imaginable”

It doesn’t exists. Neither does the diet.

We are unique individuals. We make choices, and we have reasons for each of our choices whether we are conscious of them or not.

Unique reasons: based on our experiences, surroundings, and what’s important to us.

“My friend is really strong and she trains, so I do what she does.”

Or another…

“I’ve been observing the best climbers I know, and I’ve reviewed my own training notes from past seasons. Based on my current needs and goals, I believe this training plan is my best path forward.”

There is no wrong answer.

But for the choices we repeat day after day, month after month, and year after year, we should know our reasons, and make sure we like them.

Especially when those choices affect who we become.
