Get to vs. have to

Usually it’s up to us: we choose the story we tell ourselves.

I have to help out at a volunteer day tomorrow.

Or…

I get to help out tomorrow. I am grateful for this convenient opportunity to give back to a community that I love.

No one is forcing us..

If we choose to go anyway, we may as well tell ourselves a story that will make us feel happy to be there.
