The pipe dream route, the one that you may not be able to do:
Is it your source of inspiration, giving you the spark to level up?
Or is it a convenient place to hide?
An impossible route is attractive because you can’t be held responsible for the outcome. Success and failure aren’t important, you receive credibility either way because you’re trying something hard.
Many of us get caught in this trap: accepting a stalemate and avoiding vulnerability.
Instead, we are better off and challenge ourselves more with the routes that are difficult but plausible, where we risk falling short of the expectations we have for ourselves.
We might succeed, but we are equally likely to fail.
Either way we’re responsible.
And either way, we’ll learn something from facing the challenge.
