Useful constraints

“There’s a T-shirt at the gift shop in Index that all the locals wear. On the back is a list of all the classic climbs, and I want to be the first person to do them all.”

When we give ourselves constraints and a clear goal, we focus. We plan our days and make them count.

Before we’ve left the crag we are already checking the weather and lining up partners for our next day off.

Paradoxically, when we have more options and leave ourselves open to an unlimited selection, productivity stalls.
