Like the old T-shirt that you never wear but can’t bear to get rid of:
Would you buy it for 20 dollars if you didn’t already have it?
10 dollars?
Would you even pick it up from the free bin?
It’s not the T-shirt that’s hard to let go of, it’s the story we’ve attached to it: a story about the past and about better times.
But we can’t go back, so we can quit trying.
