The tree

The tree is not concerned with Winter.

Though it appears sickly, naked, and cold; it is merely sleeping.

It’s grown great roots as its anchor, and when the seasons change it will thrive: flowering and casting shade from the glowing sun.

People are like the tree.

We are anchored by the roots we have grown, and what is above the surface is ever changing with the seasons.

But our seasons are less predictable:

Sometimes spring follows summer,

And sometimes summer follows fall;

Sometimes winter repeats itself over and over until we doubt that it will end.

But our roots are unchanged by the storm.

If the winter feels long, know that it will not last forever. And that with your great roots, you will still be standing tall when spring comes again.
